Clinical Services

University Student Health Services offers a wide range of primary care services and other health care needs.  Visits are covered by a one-time health fee automatically charged to students each semester.  Click here for a list of services covered and not covered by the health fee.

Students are seen by scheduled appointments; however, true emergencies are given priority.  Appointments may be scheduled by phone during office hours or online using the Student Health Web Portal.

Student Health also offers services in health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, and patient education.

Primary Care Services

Student Health providers diagnose and treat both acute and chronic illnesses commonly seen in the primary care setting.  We offer compassionate and confidential care for a broad range of health issues, including:

  • Care for routine medical illnesses (such as respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, STIs, abdominal pain, etc).
  • Same-day appointments for urgent medical problems (such as acute asthma attacks, allergic reactions, high fevers, head injuries, etc).
  • Care for chronic medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, hypertension, etc).
  • Mental health services (for depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc).
  • Services for sexual health and wellness (including contraception and PrEP).
  • Preventive health services, including general or sports physicals (which are charged a $30 fee), well-woman exams, immunizations, etc.  If you are presenting for a sports physical, please fill out the medical history portion of your sports physical form prior to your appointment.  If you were not given a form to complete, please download and complete the patient portion of this sports physical form prior to your appointment.
Other Clinical Services

Student Health also provides treatment of blood and body fluid exposures, nutrition consults, and travel medicine visits.  Allergy shot services are no longer offered at Student Health.

Referrals

Referrals will be made to outside providers for specialty care and imaging needs (x-rays, etc) as necessary.  Students are responsible for the cost of referrals, either through their health insurance provider or as self-pay.
