Nutrition Services

Student Health offers free in-depth consultations with our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Denise Cochran, MMSc, RDN.  Visits are tailored to each student's goals and include personalized nutrition plans.

Consults include (but are not limited to):

  • Weight loss
  • Weight gain
  • Medical nutrition therapy (such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and irritable bowel syndrome)
  • Sports performance
  • Eating disorders
  • Healthy eating (including campus dining, grocery shopping, and cooking suggestions)
  • Guidance on various diets (such as FODMAP, gluten-free, low-carb, paleo, etc.)
Making An Appointment

Students must be referred by a Student Health provider to schedule their first nutritionist appointment.  Appointments are virtual and can be scheduled by calling 804-828-8828.  Set aside 60 minutes for the initial visit and 30 minutes for follow-up visits.
