After-Hours
VCU Student Health Services is closed after hours and on weekends & holidays.
Student Health follows the same inclement weather plan as the University:
- If the University closes or delays opening, Student Health will do the same.
- Visit the VCU Alert website for updates. Note: Student Health is NOT part of the VCU Medical Center (or VCUHS), which follows a different inclement weather plan.
On-Call Phone Numbers
For urgent medical concerns:
- An on-call Student Health provider is available for phone consultation at 804-828-8828 or 804-828-9220 when clinics are closed for any reason.
For psychiatric emergencies:
- Students can reach the on-call therapist provided by University Counseling Services at 804-828-6200 anytime day or night.
- Call or text 988 anytime 24/7 to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. TTY users can dial 711 then 988.

Students who desire emergency room evaluation should proceed directly to the emergency room or call 911. It is not necessary to contact the on-call provider for an emergency room referral.
